Kinesiology taping has become an essential skill for professionals working in sport, rehabilitation, and performance environments. From supporting injured athletes to assisting movement and recovery during competition, effective taping requires both clinical understanding and practical skill.

This one-day practical workshop at MD Therapy Academy introduces participants to the principles of sports kinesiology taping and how it can be used to support athletes safely and effectively.

Led by an experienced sports physician, the course will teach you how to assess common injuries and apply appropriate taping techniques used in professional sport settings.

Participants will learn when and why taping is used, how it can support movement and recovery, and how to apply techniques commonly seen in elite sports environments.

This course contains many practical examples of how to apply taping techniques based on common injuries in contact sports such as football, rugby, and martial arts, based on extensive experience working in pitch-side environments with tutor insights into real life on the pitch.

During the course you will cover:

• Introduction to kinesiology taping and its role in sports medicine
• The physiological and performance benefits of taping
• When taping is appropriate and when it should be avoided
• Basic injury assessment before tape application
• Practical taping techniques for common sports injuries
• Application methods used in elite sport environments including football and rugby

No prior taping experience is required.

No prior experience is required but participants will be expected to complete course pre-reading material before attendance.

✔ Apply effective taping techniques for common sports injuries
✔ Gain practical skills used in professional sports environments

Assessment

Students will be assessed using continuous assessment on the practical elements of the course and will be required to pass a multiple choice written assessment to receive credit for the course with a minimum 70% pass rate.
